Joe's pedigree is second to none. His career appearances include 8 Edinburgh Tattoo's (2 as the Senior Drum Major) and Senior Drum Major appearances at the Royal Tournament, the Remembrance Service at the Royal Albert Hall, the Wembley Pageant, the Berlin Tattoo, the Wessex Tattoo, the Yeovil Tattoo and of course the first Scottish Tattoo at The Royal Albert Hall.

  Joe joined the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders as a junior drummer at the age of 15. Adult service was with the Queen's Own Highlanders (following the amalgamation of the Seaforth and Cameron Highlanders), also as a drummer. Joe served in Singapore, Germany, the Middle East, Hong Kong and the UK. Joe was a Drum Major from 1972 - 1984.

In his spare time Joe has raised thousands of pounds for charity by organising tattoo's and gatherings and is a former branch Chairman of his Regimental Association.
