Local Parish Councillor Ann Vincent and other keen residents of Partridge Way, have formed, with the help of the Housing Associations, their own Residents Association. They are keen to address all the local residents issues and help improve the area and the lives of local residents. Already, a mass clean up has taken place, with residents teaming up with police, councillors and Housing Assn reps to fill three large skips with rubbish. A barbeque and disco was the culmination of their work and this was enjoyed by all who attended (inc me!). Face painting was a very popular activity! Unfortunately, since then, some fly tipping has taken place and spoilt their work. Why do scum do that to folk who are doing their best to make things better? Good luck to you all for a successful group. .. New School Delayed by County Council When Frank Bissington and I were the District Councillors and Old Sarum masterplan was drawn up and agreed, the new primary school was built into the agreement to commence at the outset. (We had learned from experience at Hampton Park, where the school money came late and was then used elsewhere by the county council!) However, owing to the slow build at Old Sarum, the County have delayed the start of the school. Their argument is that not enough children will be there for a school for some time. I am currently fighting the case for the existing community to be included in the numbers. The County seem intent on excluding them from the exercise! I have suggested to the Parish Council that a survey is done to establish a local profile for the existing community. I am pleased to report that the newly formed Partridge Way Residents Group have agreed to do the research. The whole point of Old Sarum house building was to bring infrastructure to the existing community!!!!!!!!!! .. Old Sarum Housing...slow progress Persimmons lack of building causes the problem above and also delays other infrastructure. They are currently building Housing Association housing primarily. This is distorting the development. The Parish Plan is Ratified See the story on the Laverstock Hot Topics page. Remember it includes Old Sarum |
