Olivia McLennan B Mus (Hons) ATCL - Cello

Olivia was the principal cellist with the Royal Artillery Band based in Woolwich, London.

She was also the Principal Army cellist  and Principal Cellist in the Armed Forces.

After Army basic training, Olivia attended the Kneller Hall Army Music Academy, passing out pass out in a record three months in order to join her band at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo!

Olivia was first given the opportunity to learn the cello at school, supported by the Wiltshire County Council Music Department and teachers. She soon joined the Salisbury Area Young Musicians (SAYM) and after progressing through the grades, joined the nationally recognised Wiltshire Youth Orchestra.  Here she was eventually appointed lead cellist, which she held until leaving for university.

Her music degree at City University also included tutoring at London's Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

On leaving university, Olivia joined the Army and the Royal Artillery Band.

As well as playing at Royal events and prestigious military occasions for the RA Band, Olivia has also played in the Royal Albert Hall as a member of a Scottish Music Quartet and as a guest of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra.

Olivia also had the honour of playing for the Rt Hon Sir Edward (Ted) Heath KG MP at his home in Salisbury Cathedral Close. This was an 80th birthday celebration and was televised. Ted Heath also served in the Royal Artillery during  the 2nd world war.

Olivia is able to teach from beginner level to advanced level and take a pupil through the grades as desired.
